Since September 2014 Mareike Best is a doctorial student for Mathematics Education at the University of Bremen. In the context of the Creative Unit  "How does change happen – subject specific educational processes in Transition", she began her empirical research. She is concerned with the flexible use of functions from a teacher perspective and design research thereon. Her empirical research focusses on the Anthropological Theory of the Didactic, research on functions in mathematics education, and mathematics classrooms from a teachers perspective.
