Her focus is on empirical basic research, often with an international comparative perspective. She combines the development of theory with the theory-based approach of testing hypotheses. Central research areas are personal meaning, mathematics at job, as well as the understanding of learning processes and the perception of lessons from the students’ perspective via the investigation of their eye movements.
