Information on the Corona Pandemic

  • We keep you up-to-date!

Current information on life, studies, and work at the University of Bremen during the corona pandemic.

At the University of Bremen, there are no restrictions on studying. This means: No 3G access controls will be carried out at buildings. There are also no social distancing rules and all buildings are freely accessible. There is no longer a requirement to wear a mask in university buildings. Lectures, seminars, practical sessions, and tutorials can take place in person once more and without any restrictions. Student working spaces can also be booked again as usual.

However, in view of the high infection figures, the University Executive Board urgently asks you to continue to be cautious, show solidarity with vulnerable people, and recommends that you wear an FFP2 mask indoors and in situations where many people come together in a small space. A FFP2 mask provides good protection against contracting the virus.

The University Executive Board asks you again to get vaccinated if you are not yet fully vaccinated. Vaccination is, and will continue to be, the best protection against a severe course of disease in the event of a corona infection. The booster vaccination makes a significant difference in both infection protection and disease progression. Information on Studying

In the winter semester 2022/23, the University of Bremen will continue to allow face-to-face teaching without restrictions.

Digital formats are to be continued in those areas where they have proven their worth - in so-called blended learning scenarios. Face-to-face and online formats should be combined in such a way that the university can profit from the advantages of both forms of teaching and learning.

The following applies to university staff:

The University Executive Board and the employee representatives have reached an agreement that allows employees to work on a partly mobile basis. Employees can find more information in the staff portal.

Visit the Senator for Health's website for up-to-date information on testing options: www.gesundheit.bremen.de/corona/corona/corona-testmoeglichkeiten-32720

You are no longer required to inform the University of Bremen if you have tested positive for corona.

The following applies for staff: A quarantine letter does not function as a doctor’s note stating your inability to work. Should you for health reasons not be able to carry out your tasks from home, you require a doctor’s note in addition to the quarantine letter.
