Data Science Summer School 2026 - "Location Matters"

Geospatial Methods for Health Scientists, Social Scientists, and Geoscientists | 13 to 17 June 2026

Geospatial data is increasingly central to understanding health outcomes, social inequalities, environmental exposures, and access to services. The “Location Matters” Interdisciplinary Summer School 2026 creates a focused space for methodological training, structured exchange, and research development. Participants will develop practical skills and interdisciplinary perspectives for working with spatial data in societal and health-related research contexts.

The Summer School is jointly organized by the Data Science Center (DSC), the Leibniz Institute for Prevention Research and Epidemiology (BIPS), the Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT), and the interdisciplinary data competence center Data Nord.
