Faculty Council

The Faculty Council is the highest body in the faculty and is elected for two years, with the student representatives only holding office for one year.

Composition of the Faculty Council is according to § 88 BremHG:
13 members - 7 professors, 2 members of the scientific staff , 2 students and 2 technical and administrative members

The members of the faculty council can decide on committees (e.g. habilitation committees, examination committees) and assign decision-making powers to these committees or withdraw them from them.

In addition to the responsibilities assigned to it by the BremHG, the faculty ouncil shall have the following duties in particular:

1. conducting appointment procedures and forming appointment committees in accordance with the appointment regulations
2. comment on the report of the dean's office on budgets of the department
3. commenting on applications for the establishment and closure of institutes in accordance with § 91 BremHG
4. passing resolutions on study regulations
5. passing resolutions on the budgetary principles of the faculty

The deanery, chaired by the Dean, Prof. Dr. Ingrid Darmann-Finck, leads the faculty council of the faculty 11.
