Stefano Odorico is a research fellow at the University of Bremen where his work focuses primarily on interactive documentaries. Stefano received a PhD in Film Studies at University College Cork (Ireland) in 2011. The title of his thesis, centered on documentary and pragmatics, is: "The Nonfictional Address. A Pragmatic Reading of Documentary Films between Construction and Participation". For his doctoral studies he was awarded the Irish Research Council for Humanities and Social Sciences (IRCHSS) and the University College Cork President's scholarship. Before moving to the University of Bremen where he lecturers in film and media, Stefano also lectured at University College Cork (Ireland), Queen's University Belfast (UK) and University of Navarra (Spain).
Stefano is also a filmmaker and member of editorial team of Alphaville: Journal of Film and Screen Media.

He has published a number of articles in international journals and anthologies. Recent publications include:

"Violence of the Documentary Image. Errol Morris's Standard Operating Procedure", in: Asbjørn Grønstad and Henrik Gustafsson: "Ethics and Images of Pain" (Routledge, 2012).
Stefano has given papers at many international conferences, among others: NECS, Screen, Documentary Now! and Visible Evidence.
