International Workshop on Researching Global Solidarity

University of Bremen

On October 5 and 6, 2023, the GlobaLab team invited several national and international scholars and practitioners to the University of Bremen to discuss global solidarity in the context of our Cluster of Excellence initiative. How do different disciplines and stakeholders understand global solidarity, and how can it be meaningfully and comprehensively researched?
We took away valuable insights from very different perspectives, which will help us further sharpening our concept and theoretical framework. In the discussion, the participants emphasized the academic and societal relevance of our initiative and the stringency of the proposal, as well as the fact that by organizing such an international and inclusive workshop, we directly implement what we aim to research: global solidarity.
