The Core Values Compass at the University of Bremen identifes, defines, and makes transparent our shared and aspired values. It gives us orientation and confidence in our own behavior, provides a basis for respectful interaction with one another, and shows us what we can rely on.

In 2011, the University of Bremen introduced the annual appraisal as a key tool for staff development and management for all employees. To support this, the Staff Development department regularly organises workshops and information sessions.

A smooth start is crucial for a successful working relationship. The onboarding guide helps hiring areas to welcome new staff in a structured and respectful manner, using checklists and templates.
