Dr. Alexandra Schneider holds a Diploma in Meteorology, a Master in Public Health and a PhD in Human Biology from the Ludwig-Maximilians Universität München. As a senior researcher and a research group leader at the Institute of Epidemiology at the Helmholtz Zentrum München she focuses on environmental impact on population health and biostatistics. She participated in several environmental European studies (e.g. AIRGENE, EuroHEAT, UFIREG) and is currently a work package leader in the European project EXHAUSTION. Since 2006 she is a regular visiting scientist at the Environmental Public Health Division of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. She is a member of the International Society for Environmental Epidemiology (ISEE) and its European Chapter and in 2010 she was called into the editorial board of the journal “Inhalation Toxicology”. For 2016 to 2020 she was called into the Committee “Environmental Medicine and Public Health” of the Robert Koch-Institute. Since 2018 she is Speaker of the Expert Group “Environment” of the German National Cohort (NAKO).

 

Dr. Ute Kraus holds a Diploma in Psychology, a master in public health and a PhD in Human Biology from the Ludwig-Maximilians Universität München. In 2006 she joint the Institute of Epidemiology at the Helmholtz Zentrum München as a scientist and brings in many years of experience in environmental epidemiology, especially regarding cardiovascular diseases due to air pollution and environmental noise exposure. She already dealed with the topic of sex and gender in the project GeUmGe-Net, which was funded by the BMBF as well.
