Monitoring of health-relevant environmental inequalities in Europe and enhancement of environmental inequality indicators

Monitoring and assessing health-relevant environmental inequalities in Europe, by updating the inequality indicators established by the WHO environmental health inequalities assessment report (2012) and the update of the assessment report (2019). Furthermore, development of new environmental inequality indicators as well as the substantial modification of existing indicators if new data becomes available.

2:

Development of a concept for estimating the health impact of environmental inequalities

Development of a concept for estimating health inequalities attributable to social inequalities in environmental exposures and for quantification – to the extent possible – of the environmentally induced proportion of health inequalities.  The aim is the assessment for different population groups with different levels of environmental exposures and/or vulnerability.

 

3:

Providing educational and presentation modules on environmental health inequalities for WHO training and capacity building activities

Providing educational and presentation modules comprising an overview of the concept of environmental health inequalities, data requirements to identify and monitor these inequalities as well as of the derivation of suitable interventions. The training modules will be presented through own staff of the WHO CC in future courses and workshops of the WHO.
