Specialist for media and information services, specializing in libraries
Library assistants specializing in media and information services help to set up and maintain library collections. In user service, they advise customers and obtain media or information for them.
Tasks:
- Procurement and acquisition of media, data and information
- Cataloguing and indexing of printed and electronic books, journals and other media in catalogs and databases
- Advice, information and support for customers
- Research in databases, information and communication systems
- carrying out and supervising loans
- Technical media processing
Requirements:
- Pleasure in working with people

- Good academic performance in mathematics, German and English

Specialist for media and information services in the field of medical documentation
Media and information services specialists specializing in medical documentation record, manage and maintain medical databases. They classify information, check, maintain and save it.
Tasks:
- Procure, manage, and prepare medical media, data, and information.
- Design and maintenance of databases
- Entering and maintaining patient data, examination reports, and medical reports
- Statistical analysis, preparation and presentation of medical data
- Dealing with coding systems
Prerequisites:
- Good sense of order
- Careful and systematic way of working
- Good academic performance in mathematics, German and English
- Knowledge of electronic data processing
- Interest in working with data and numbers
The training period for this occupation is 3 years and is partly carried out in cooperation with hospitals, for example, as part of a joint training program.

Event managers
The University of Bremen is in the public eye on numerous occasions at external and internal events.
The organization of major events, such as OPEN CAMPUS, and award ceremonies, honors, receptions, conferences and summer festivals, is the responsibility of our Administrative Unit 01: President’s Office / Bureau for Presidential Affairs in cooperation with various partners:in and around Bremen.
Tasks:
- Development of concepts for various events
- Planning, organization, implementation and follow-up of events
- Assumption of commercial tasks, such as the preparation of cost calculations
- Various internships to deepen important contents (e.g. in event technology)
