Onboarding

A smooth start is crucial for a successful working relationship. The onboarding guide  helps hiring areas to welcome new staff in a structured and respectful manner, using checklists and templates.

The onboarding portal in the internal area also provides employees with a collection of information and further guidance that is important for settling in.

Onboarding begins as soon as a place is offered and encompasses both social and professional integration. The aim is to provide guidance, facilitate the settling-in process and strengthen long-term loyalty to the university. 

The three phases of onboarding

1. Before the first day of work
Early communication, organisational preparation, setting up the workspace and involving the team lay the foundations for a good start. 

2. The first few days at work
A warm welcome, getting to know the team and the working environment, and an introduction to the induction plan help new staff to find their feet and settle in. 

3. Induction and probationary period
On-the-job training, integration into the team, training courses and feedback sessions ensure long-term development and collaboration.
