Professor Kerstin Schill is a Senate member of the German Research Foundation, where she represents computer science for the whole of Germany. She is Dean of her Faculty at the University of Bremen, heads the research group Cognitive Neuroinformatics, and is spokesperson for the high-profile area Minds, Media, Machines. “Exciting jobs that I enjoy doing,” she emphasizes. When in 2003 Kerstin Schill received her appointment, she came from what she calls an anonymous “university giant” in Munich. In Bremen, she experiences a very different situation which she appreciates greatly.
