Fabio Nicoletti has been the project coordinator for the Bremen-wide, cross-university sustainability certificate programme ‘BRENA’ at the Virtual Academy since March 2025. By participating in the certificate programme, students have the opportunity to take an interdisciplinary approach to the socio-ecological issues of the 21st century and develop a respective set of future-oriented competencies.
He studied Philosophy and Public Health (B.A.) and subsequently Professional Public Decision-Making (M.A.) at the University of Bremen with a focus on political philosophy, theories of justice, especially global justice, applied ethics and philosophy of science as well as political strategy development.
Previously, Mr Nicoletti worked in science management at the Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT) and in international cooperation in the coordination and management of projects for water-sensitive, climate-resilient urban development and sustainable resource management in Southeast Asia as well as in the fields of education for sustainable development, capacity building and public relations. He has gained international work and practical experience through stays in Ethiopia, Belgium, Cambodia, Laos and Uzbekistan.
