University Music: Choir

Love Through Time

This open-air concert by the University of Bremen Choir takes listeners on a musical journey through the past, present, and future of love.

In “Yesterday” by Lennon/McCartney, the memory of lost intimacy resounds, rendering love as an echo of the past.
In Morten Lauridsen’s “Dirait-on,” inspired by Rainer Maria Rilke, the present moment becomes audible: warm, intimate, and full of trust.
John Rutter’s “Dashing Away” ultimately looks to the future – with lightness, energy, and innocent anticipation.

The musical program performed by the approximately 150 singers of the University of Bremen Choir weaves together remembrance, the present, and hope in a shared soundscape of human connection.

ZeMKI Media Talks – Media Under the Microscope

How is our media landscape changing – and what does that mean for all of us? This is precisely the question addressed by the ZeMKI Media Talks: a discussion format that brings together academia, journalism, and urban society.

On the main stage at Open Campus 2026, Bremen Zwei will host a lively, one-hour discussion on a highly topical issue in the media landscape, featuring an exciting guest from the media sector and Professor Christian Schwarzenegger from the Centre for Media, Communication, and Information Research (Zentrum für Medien-, Kommunikations- und Informationsforschung – ZeMKI) at the University of Bremen. It will not be an academic lecture, but rather a genuine conversation: direct, open, and focused on the issues currently shaping the media landscape.

The ZeMKI Media Talks have been an established event for years and are firmly rooted in a partnership with Radio Bremen and the Bremen Press Club. Once or twice a semester, journalists, academics, and other experts gather here to discuss the societal challenges of media transformation with the audience. If you feel curious, you are welcome to ask questions.

A poetry slam at its finest with the Slammer Filet.

Get ready for five outstanding artists who are eager and determined to captivate you with their poetry and performances! You get to be the jury. And the most exciting part: All performers are affiliated with the University of Bremen, for example, by being current or former students or staff members.

Poetry created by the University of Bremen, so to speak. It is hard to think of a better poetry slam for Open Campus.
