Looking inside the brain:Our PhD students and associates from the KD2School recently had the wonderful opportunity to attend a focused workshop on neuroimaging at the Department of Neuropsychology and Behavioral Neurobiology at the University of Bremen.

Our thanks go to Professor Manfred Herrmann and his dedicated team, whose efforts made this event possible. Over two intense days, participants immersed themselves in the world of functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). The workshop featured engaging theoretical sessions and hands-on activities, ranging from data analysis to the preparation of subjects for scanning during experiments.

These two days were not only highly educational, but also incredibly exciting for everyone involved. We're truly grateful to the organizers for making this experience possible.

KD2School's fourth bi-annual retreat at the prestigious Hanse-Wissenschaftskolleg (HWK) in Delmenhorst brought together a diverse group of academics and researchers spanning neuro-, computer, information systems and economic sciences. Over two days, the attendees shared and discussed their latest research developments and were inspired by a keynote speech from Professor Christian Büchel, Director of the Institute for Systems Neuroscience at Hamburg University Clinic Eppendorf (UKE), on what neuroimaging can contribute to the study of motivated behavior.

The retreat featured a warm welcome, research presentations, a poster session, and multiple workshops on research project development, data management, and open access in science. Professor Kerstin Schill, Rector of the Hanse-Wissenschaftskolleg and Vice President of the German Research Foundation (DFG), shared her insights about the HWK and its importance to cultivate research in the area. With a barbecue at the HWK and an English Pub gathering, we were then finally able to reflect on all the input of the day.

KD2School's retreat at HWK provided a valuable platform for knowledge sharing and networking, ensuring academic growth and innovation. We eagerly anticipate the next opportunity to engage and learn.
