Dr. Martin C. Lukas

Meine interdisziplinäre Forschung analysiert Zusammenhänge zwischen Umweltveränderungen und sozialen, politischen und ökonomischen Strukturen und Dynamiken. Ein Hauptfokus liegt dabei auf Veränderungen in der Nutzung und dem Management von, dem Zugang zu sowie Konflikten um Naturressourcen. Dabei untersuche ich sowohl materielle als auch diskursive Dimensionen von Umweltveränderungen und -problemen über verschiedene Maßstabsebenen hinweg und beziehe historische Entwicklungspfade ein.

Entsprechend kombiniere und entwickle ich in verschiedenen Disziplinen verankerte Forschungsansätze und -methoden. Deren Spektrum reicht von Methoden der empirischen Sozialforschung, wie Interviews, Fokusgruppen und Surveys, über Kartierungen, Fernerkundung und historisch-kartografische Rekonstruktionen von Umweltveränderungen bis zur Analyse räumlicher Sekundärdaten mittels Geografischer Informationssysteme (GIS). In Interviews und durch ‚Science-Policy Workshops‘ integriere ich transdisziplinäre Ansätze.
