In this short presentation followed by a discussion round, the Black Children's Library Bremen will introduce itself. Co-director and speaker Maimuna Sallah (she/her) will explain the concept of the children's library, offer a virtual tour, and engage with participants in a discussion on the topic of diversity in children's literature.

About this person

Maimuna Sallah is a Germanist currently studying Transnational Literature at the University of Bremen. She actively engages in anti-racism discourses and freelances as a moderator for readings. Her main interests and focus lie in deconstructing colonial continuities at the intersection of educational and cultural policies, as well as in the field of diverse children's and young adult literature. Since January 2023, she has been co-directing the Black Children's Library alongside Sheeko Ismail.
