This presentation provides a brief overview of where you can turn to if you become pregnant, whether planned or unplanned. Prof. Dr. Melanie Böckmann will inform about the German healthcare system, counseling services in Bremen, and what a "typical" path to abortion or childbirth might look like here in Germany.

About this Person

Melanie Böckmann initially studied humanities at the University of Leipzig and then pursued a degree in Public Health at the University of Bremen. Her doctoral research focused on evaluating heat adaptation measures in response to climate change. After working as a research associate in Bremen and Düsseldorf, as well as serving as a junior professor at the University of Bielefeld, she most recently worked as a scientific study coordinator.

The professorship in "Global Health" initially emphasizes global adaptation to climate change and global tobacco control and tobacco use. Her methodological expertise lies particularly in qualitative evaluation and implementation research.
