About the Project
Lehramt International: Reflecting Diversity and Inclusion
Since 2019, the Lehramt International project has been working on the internationalization of teacher training at the University of Bremen. With funding secured from the DAAD, the third four-year project phase will begin in 2025 focussing on reflecting diversity and inclusion.
The sustainable internationalization of teacher training programs is being achieved through various planned measures, which are organized into five central clusters. By creating new opportunities for study abroad, incorporating international perspectives into local teaching, and organizing networking opportunities for teachers, a framework for diversity- and inclusion-sensitive teaching is being established that aims to meet the demands of teacher training in a migration society.
Cluster A: Accompanied Practice-Study-Stays within the international partner network
Measure 1:
Expand the structures and locations of study-practice stays abroad.
Measure 2:
Establish connections with new practice partners at schools and universities abroad.
Measure 3:
Continue to support accompanying teachers and students from Bremen during their stay abroad.
Cluster B: Internationalization of teaching through short-term stays abroad
Measure 4:
Establish and expand international collaborations for digital (hybrid) seminars.
Measure 5:
Integrate excursion seminars with short stays abroad into the curriculum.
Cluster C: Internationalization of the final phase - Master's thesis
Measure 6:
Establish a research colloquium for master's theses with an international focus.
Measure 7:
Organize summer schools for students on diversity and inclusion.
Cluster D: Expand professional network
Maßnahme 8:
Organizing events for academic exchange: International Teaching Week and International Summer School on Diversity in Teacher Education.
Cluster E: Institutionalization of measures and counseling services
Measure 9a:
Develop advisory and information structures for diversity issues.
Measure 9b:
Strategy development with critical project board and PR.
