Four Pianos for Everyone

Four pianos for people who are not students of music

There are four pianos in the University that those students of the University can use to play and practice who love music but do not study music.
Please note, that other events must not be disturbed while rehearsing.

Piano 1 is in the AStA conference room (A 2130). The AStA rooms can be reached directly via the Glass Hall in the central area. The piano is available for use Monday to Friday from 8 - 10 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., unless the room is needed for meetings or workgroups. If you want, you can register in advance in the AStA office. But it is also possible to spontaneously take a chance and hope that the room is free when you want it.

The piano belongs to University Music, which received a generous donation from the Sparkasse Bremen for its purchase in 2012. The University Music takes care of the piano’s tuning and maintenance. The funding for this is gratefully provided by the Studierendenwerk. University Music, represented by Jan-Hendrik von Stemm, is the addressee for all kinds of feedback, both in case of problems as well as positive feedback.

Piano 2 is in Studio 1 on the 4th storey of the University Library (SuUB). It is available only during the semester break because during the semester the room is used almost throughout for teaching. The room is locked. To get the key, contact Jan-Hendrik von Stemm.

This piano, too, belongs to University Music, which organizes the tuning and maintenance of the piano. University Music, represented by Jan-Hendrik von Stemm, is also the contact point for all types of feedback, both in case of problems and positive feedback.

Piano 3 is in the basement of GW1-B (former Cafeteria) as a private donation for the University Music. The location is usually in semester terms used for education and exams and may be locked. Feel free to try if it is open and not occupied - and then enjoy playing.
