The ERASMUS program enables students and graduates of the University of Bremen to carry out internships in one of the participating countries, funded with a grant from the Erasmus program. These include the EU Member States, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Turkey. Also included are the French and Dutch overseas territories.
Students and graduates are eligible to be supported in each study cycle (Bachelor, Master, PhD) several times up to a total of twelve months. If they have already received an Erasmus grant in their current study cycle, this will be deducted from the twelve months. Internships can be supported during and after the graduation. The duration of the internship is at least 2 months (60 days) and a maximum of 12 months.
The aim of the program is to give students and graduates access to the acquisition of practice-relevant experiences, to expand the professional qualification and extend intercultural competence. Internships allow the participants to collect study-related on-the-job-experience, to "network" and to establish contacts in companies for their future employment.
Who can apply?
All students and graduates of the University of Bremen. This also includes citizens of non-EU countries.
For graduates there are two important conditions:
- the application has to be submitted before the end of the study
- the internship has to be finalized within one year after the study
You can also apply if you have already completed a project funded by the ERASMUS-program (study period / internship) as long as the entire funding period does not exceed twelve months in the current study phase.
What is funded?

Supported are voluntary and mandatory internships with a study subject-related content.
The duration of the internship must be at least 2 months (60 days) and a maximum of 12 months.
