Production design

The Production Design working group is concerned with the planning and control of production processes. The focus is on the development of innovative planning methods and concepts that enable the smooth and effective execution of production processes. The working group researches topics from the areas of computer-aided process optimization, networked manufacturing systems and disruptive technologies in the context of Industry 4.0, also taking into account the role of employees in production and investigating how human expertise and experience can be incorporated into planning and decision-making. Promoting participation and developing training measures are therefore important aspects of ensuring the acceptance of new technologies in the context of production design.
