Research Interests
In its research, the bime deals with the development and operation of production plants, from basic mechanical design to mechatronic components and control technology to plant operation and production logistics. The institute's four focal areas - applied mechatronics, assembly systems, production design and structural mechanics - complement each other ideally, because their interaction enables a comprehensive view of production plants, their operation and process chains from different, essential perspectives.
