Consotium of four Univerities

MASS is a 2-years Erasmus Mundus Joint Master (EMJM) course in Astrophysics and Space Science. It is funded by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union and is jointly delivered by a Consortium of four Universities: Rome “Tor Vergata”, Belgrade, Bremen, Côte d’Azur.

A number of Third Parties, including public research institutions, National Space Agencies, small and medium enterprises and space industries contribute actively to the program.

Because of this, MASS is an intersectoral, research-oriented Master program, covering state-ofthe-art knowledge and research in six main pillars:

✔ Stellar Astrophysics
✔ Exoplanets
✔ Astrophysical Techniques
✔ Astrostatistics and Big Data
✔ Space Science

This research-oriented, international Master's programme covers the main areas of gravitation, cosmology, stellar astrophysics, exoplanets, astrophysical techniques, astrostatistics, big data as well as space research.

At the partner universities Tor Vergata Rome, University Nice, University Belgrade, the students deal with the theoretical aspects of modern astrophysics and conduct space-based experiments. The Master's thesis is written at a university of their choice and supervised by two supervisors from different universities. Afterwards, the students receive a joint degree and qualify for a profession in the European space industry.

Admission requirements:
- First academic degree (min. 180 CP)
- Thereof 90 CP in Physics or 65 CP in Electrical Engineering and 16 CP in Mathematics courses
- English language skills at least level C1 (CEFR)
- Letter of motivation
