University Music administration: Jan-Hendrik von Stemm
The first contact person for everything concerning the concerts in the theater is Jan-Hendrik von Stemm. He is an administrative assistant in the area of University Music. He plans and supervises the concert series in the University’s theater hall and is responsible for the administration of University Music. All purchases and payment processes are in his hands; for example for advertising, hall rental, sheet music rental, instrument rental and transport, piano tunings and solo-voice fees. He organizes ticket sales for concerts and public relations events.

The "Universitätsmusikdirektorin" or "Universitätsmusikdirektor" is the director of musical activities on the campus. She or he organises the musical life of the university for students and staff. She or he directs the orchestra and choir of the University and organises seminars on topics relating to their joint projects. The first Universitätsmusikdirektorin of the University of Bremen, Dr. Susanne Gläß, developed the concept for the weekly lunchtime concerts in the theater hall and supervised them herself during the first years. In the course of time, she has handed over the job to Jan-Hendrik von Stemm, but still kept monitoring and accompanying the concept, its implementation and the financing as a whole. The Universitätsmusikdirektor*in also coordinates music-related activities for students of all schools and departments and provides guidance for staff of the university relating to the organisation of any musical event.
From 1996 to October 2020, Dr. Susanne Gläß was Universitätsmusikdirektor*in at the University of Bremen. Now she retired (see article). The position is vacant.
