Since October 2021, Julia M. Kensbock is a Professor of Management and Organisation in a Digitized Society at the University of Bremen.

Her research is located at the interface between psychology, management, entrepreneurship, and technology and focuses especially on the ‘dark side’ of work: Employees and entrepreneurs are not always happy, healthy, and productive. Instead, they often experience constraints, conflicts, or even burnout or health complaints. Professor Kensbock's research explores why (modern) work can sometimes have negative effects on individuals’ well-being, health, and performance, and how leadership and human resource management can be used as effective interventions. She examines the behavior of workers and entrepreneurs in light of recent technological challenges and digitization.

Her research has been published in Administrative Science Quarterly, Journal of Business Venturing, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, among others.
