Focal Research Topics

The Working Group of Organizational Psychology focuses on how working conditions can be designed so that employees not only feel comfortable at work and perform well in the short term but can also learn and develop in the long term. Optimized vocational training, continuous qualification and informal workplace learning are becoming increasingly important in a globalized and digitalized world of work, especially in view of demographic change and a shortage of skilled workers.

The focal research topics of the Working Group of Organizational Psychology include:

  • Advantages and disadvantages ("the dark side") of informal workplace learning
  • Learning and well-being in algorithmic work environments
  • Enhancing long-term employability
  • The role of leader humor in work-related learning
  • Positive effects of looking back at past work successes
  • New Work & New Learning
