Sustainability in Research

Research related to sustainability is an integral part of the University of Bremen's academic profile. Through their ideas and expertise, our scientists provide new impetus for the socio-ecological transformation of our society.

This applies to researchers from all disciplines, including the natural and technical sciences, the social and human sciences, and the liberal arts and humanities.

The university's sustainability-related research approaches are diverse, ranging from disciplinary to interdisciplinary perspectives and focusing on regional and global processes. The university emphasizes participatory and collaborative sustainability research involving actors from various social sectors and interest groups.

The thematic focus is equally broad. Research questions are based on three intertwining dimensions of sustainability.
