Prof. Dr.-Ing. Lucio Colombi Ciacchi
Hybrid Materials Interfaces
Lucio Colombi Ciacchi is professor at the faculty of production engineering of the University of Bremen. He is the scientific coordinator of the MAPEX Core Facility for Materials Analytics, the director of the master’s study course ‘Process-Oriented Materials Research’, and was the founding speaker of the MAPEX Center for Materials and Processes. He is a former Humboldt and Emmy-Noether fellow and received several awards for his teaching and science activities. His main research focus is the atomic-level understanding of hybrid materials interfaces.
Dr.-Ing. Ingmar Bösing
Chemical Process Engineering, Center for Environmental Research and Sustainable Technology (UFT)
Ingmar Bösing is currently group leader of the electrochemistry group which is part of the chemical process engineering group of the center for environmental science and sustainable technology. He did his PhD at the University of Bremen on corrosion and electrochemical oxide film growth.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sven Kerzenmacher
Environmental Process Engineering
Sven Kerzenmacher is professor for Environmental Process Engineering and Speaker of the Center for Environmental Research and Technology (UFT) at the University of Bremen. His interdisciplinary research focuses on microbial electrochemical technologies for waste water treatment, resource recovery, and electrosynthesis, covering both fundamental and application-oriented aspects.
Dr. Hanna Lührs
MAPEX Science Manager
Hanna Lührs is the science manager of the MAPEX Center for Materials and Processes since 2015 and teaching in the masters programme process-oriented materials research. She did her PhD at the University of Bremen in Crystallography and has a background in geosciences and materials mineralogy.
Prof. Dr. Fabio La Mantia
Energy Storage and Energy Conversion Systems
Fabio La Mantia received his Ph.D. in electrochemistry in 2008 from the ETH Zürich. He was a post-doctoral fellow at Stanford University, and he is currently full professor at the University of Bremen. His research interests ranges from Li-ion batteries and zinc-ion batteries, to dynamic impedance spectroscopy and frequency response analysis.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jorg Thöming
Chemical Process Engineering, Center for Environmental Research and Sustainable Technology (UFT)
Jorg Thöming received his PhD from Technical University Hamburg (Germany) in 1998. Following a position as visiting professor at the Chemical Engineering Department at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil), he joined the University of Bremen (Germany) as Professor of Chemical Process Engineering in 2001. His research covers fundamental aspects of recovery processes and (electro-)chemical reaction engineering focussing on mass and heat transfer.
