Personal Details

After graduating high school in 2018 (Lloyd-Gymnasium Bremerhaven), Janik Ole Wecks began studying business administration at the University of Bremen in the same year, in which he specialized in finance, accounting and taxation. After completing his bachelor's degree in 2021, he started his master's degree in business administration, also at the University of Bremen, majoring in finance and accounting, which he graduated in 2023. He currently works as a research assistant at the Chair of Accounting and Control.

From 2019 to 2021, Mr. Wecks worked as a student assistant at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence in the Finance department. Since 2020, he has also been employed as a student assistant at the Chair of Accounting and Control at the University of Bremen, where he has also been visiting scholar in April 2023.

Among other things, he is involved in the interdisciplinary digitization project WiWiNow contributing to the conception, development and coordination of the implementation of innovative technological solutions in the university context. This project is accompanied by related research in Accounting Education on design requirements as well as usage effects of the app. Mr. Wecks has also been a certified derivatives trader since September 2021.
