Rachel Ringe, Katharina Hasenlust, and Lisa Hesselbarth presented their research at the Mensch und Computer (MuC) 2026 conference at the University of Duisburg-Essen. The conference took place from August 30 to September 2, 2026, with the aim of providing a space for meaningful discourse between academic disciplines and professional fields.
Rachel Ringe served as Student Research Competition Chair and presented the paper „Emotional Beeps and Blinks: Exploring Emotional Expressiveness in Non-Anthropomorphic Robots Through Sound Design and Color“, which was based on the master’s thesis of Ayden Janssen, a student from the University of Bremen whom we supervised in our lab.
Katharina Hasenlust presented her Paper „Accessibility Engineering for Medical Apps – A Multiple-Case Study Using the Example of the German Market“.
Lisa Hesselbarth presented a poster based on the bachelor’s thesis she supervised, written by student Stephanie Lam and titled "Co-Draw with Tomo: Supporting Intrinsic Motivation for Digital Drawing through a Color Blob Interaction" Lisa also co-organized the workshop “19th Workshop ‘Be-greifbare Interaktion’” during which another student she advised, Laila Voss, presented her bachelor’s thesis, "Spielboard: Exploring AI-Co-Storyboarding through Real-World Mannequin Posing" as a workshop paper.
