Learning goals
This course prepares participants to meet the following learning objectives and competencies:
The students learn about the "classics" of organizational theory and their significance for modern business administration. They understand the importance of the historical lines of development and derive implications for today's management problems. The students experience the possibilities and limits of structuring tasks and processes in companies. This helps them to make decisions about the structure of companies and divisions. The students understand the interplay between organizations and the environment as well as between organizations and individuals, and they know possible conflicts and solutions. This helps them to successfully operate teamwork or cooperations. The students learn and evaluate possibilities for dealing with emergent processes in organizations and experience the importance of organizational change and learning. This helps them to understand political processes in companies, to build a successful corporate culture, and to make a company competitive in times of change.

Learning goals
This course prepares students for the following learning objectives and competencies:
- Basic knowledge: Students are familiar with the most important theoretical and practical approaches to strategic management and are able to use them, particularly against the background of digital transformation.
- Methodological knowledge: Students are familiar with established methods of strategic management and can apply them to real-life case studies.
- Transfer knowledge: Students will be able to assess the possibilities and limitations of established theories. They can formulate managerial recommendations based on the theories.
Contents
The course focuses on the fundamental theories of strategic management with a special emphasis on digital transformation.

Learning goals
This lecture will focus on educating students in these areas:
- Basic knowledge: We will provide an overview of the most established concepts in the theory and practice of organizing and human resource management.
- Methodological knowledge: Students will be taught to critically challenge existing concepts and to apply them to situations stemming from the business world.
- Transfer knowledge: Students will learn to use existing concepts to solve unstructured situations related to organizing and human resource management.
Contents
We focus on the fundamental concepts of human resource management as well as their application to real-life situations in contemporary business practice.

Managing digital transformation
Learning goals
This course prepares students for the following learning objectives and competencies:
- Basic knowledge: Students know the challenges of digital transformation for companies as well as basics of strategic management /change management that are particularly important in times of digital transformation.
- Methodological knowledge: Students are familiar with established management methods and can apply them to the challenges of digital transformation.
- Transfer knowledge: Students are able to assess the possibilities and limitations of established theories and methods for the digital age. They can formulate managerial recommendations based on the theories.

The course addresses the challenges of digital transformation for organizations and examines them against the background of strategic management and change management.

Information and Organization
Learning goals
The course enables students to:
- develop an understanding of the complex interplay between information and technology within organisational contexts
- gain knowledge about different theories and schools of thought in order to apply these as analytical tools in specific domains and case studies
- be able to identify and critically examine organisational, legal, social and ethical aspects in the area of Management Information Systems
Contents
The course focuses on the complex relationship and interplay between information, technology and organisation as core domains of the Master Management Information Systems. Different schools of thought and disciplines are introduced and the respective focus and different conceptualisations (of the relationship) of information and organisation are examined. This includes Organizational Studies (OS), Information Systems Research (IS), Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), and Science and Technology Studies (STS).

Human Resource Management in the Digital Age
Learning goals
This course prepares participants to meet the following learning objectives and competencies:
Basic knowledge: Students will learn about the importance of digitalization for various HR management processes and will be able to classify and evaluate the opportunities and limitations of digitalization for HR management.
Methodological knowledge: Students will be able to conceptualize, design, implement and evaluate a training session for employees.
Transfer knowledge: Students will be able to develop and propose solution approaches and recommendations for action for HR managers in the digital age.
Contents
The course addresses the opportunities and challenges of digitalization for human resource management. Topics such as artificial intelligence, virtual teams, new work, and personnel development and leadership in the digital age are covered.

Learning goals
This course prepares participants to meet the following learning objectives and competencies:
- Basic knowledge: Students will learn basics of project management as well as scientific work.
- Methodological knowledge: Students will be able to independently design, implement and present a practice-oriented research project in teams.
- Transfer knowledge: Students will be able to apply scientific theories to management challenges in practice. They are able to develop and propose scientific, evidence-based approaches to solutions and recommendations for action in practice.
Contents
In this course, students work in teams to carry out empirical research projects based on a practical management challenge. Students develop a theoretically and practically relevant problem as well as a solution approach and derive recommendations for action based on scientific literature and empirical analyses.
