Dr. Marzia Wafaee

Postdoc

Marzia Wafaee was born in Afghanistan. She obtained her BSc. and MSc. in chemistry from Azzahra University and Iran University of Science and Technology. She received her PhD in inorganic chemistry from Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran in 2012. After graduation, she went back to Kabul and was a faculty member at Kabul University. After the collapse of Afghanistan in August 2021, she moved to Germany and joined Prof. Dr. Staubitz's research group in December 2022. She is working on the synthesis of azobenzenes as molecular switches in the visible range.
