M.Sc. Jan Thayssen né Makow

Jan finished his bachelor thesis in 2017 under the supervision of Dr. David E. Herbert and Prof. Dr. Anne Staubitz at the University of Manitoba, Canada, working on novel azaborine structures and their synthesis. As research assistent in the Staubitz group he worked on several projects including the synthesis of switchable azobenzene polymers and new borole molecules. During his Master thesis he dealt with the synthesis and characterisation of novel borole structures in the group. In Dezember 2019, he started with his doctorate in the Staubitz group focussing on the application of nanoporous gold for organic synthesis.
