Through the Bremen Advanced Scholars Network (BASNet) we promote the career development and peer support of postdoctoral researchers at the University of Bremen within the following programs:

During a kick-off event in May 2026, we had the opportunity to meet great researchers and learn more about their projects. We discussed various ideas for support measures and topics for BASNet events.
In the workshop “Grant Proposal Writing” in May and June, a group of scholars worked on their drafts for funding proposals, trying out new methods to design and communicate research projects convincingly.
Upcoming events in autumn 2026 will include a workshop on multi-project management and self-leadership in academia as well as a talk with invited guests on the “blackbox” of professorial appointment procedures.
