Data protection compliant tools: Die Academic Cloud

The University of Bremen provides access to various generative AI models in compliance with data protection regulations via the Academic Cloud of the GWDG (Gesellschaft für wissenschaftliche Datenverarbeitung mbH), a joint institution of the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft. Use is voluntary. Access is granted using the login details of the university account. Interaction with the chatbot takes place via a web interface called ChatAI. 

The Guidelines and Checklist approved by the Rectorate contain important information and guidelines for using GenKI services. They form the prerequisite for permitted use.

AI skills

To acquire basic skills in artificial intelligence, we recommend the course KI-Kompetenzen in der Hochschulverwaltung (AI Skills in Higher Education Administration) from KI-Campus. This course is suitable for all target groups and takes approximately 3 hours to complete. Upon completion of the course, participants can also obtain a certificate.

If you use AI-based systems in your organisational unit or plan to use them, the development of appropriate skills is required by law (EU AI Act).
