Starting your studies at Faculty 1

Start of winter semester

From October 1 to 10, 2025 the introductory module will take place at FB1 in combination with the university-wide orientation week.

To make it easier for you to start your studies and to ensure that you are well prepared right from the start, we recommend that all first-year students on the Bachelor's degree program

  • Natural Sciences for Sustainability

take a look at the information and videos on this page and participate in the orientation week.

Refresh your maths skills

Especially in the first semesters of your science or engineering degree programme, you will be dealing with a lot of mathematics. The lectures build on what you learnt at school, so it is important that you brush up on this knowledge. The best way to do this is with the

German courses alongside your studies

The Language Center (SZHB)  of the Universities in the State of Bremen, in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut, is offering semester-long German courses (levels A1 to C1 of the CEFR) in the 2026 summer semester, starting on April 7, 2026. A four-hour course per week during the semester costs only €40.00 for students at public universities in Bremen.

Information about German courses can be found on the Language Center website. You can register for a German course from around noon on February 23, 2026.
