Thematic year "Multilingualism" 2025
The University of Bremen embraces diversity. For Faculty 10 – Linguistics and Literary Studies – this means not only a fundamental commitment to diversity in all its dimensions of heterogeneity, but also its application to the faculty's fields of study. It also includes a clear commitment to academic diversity, particularly in terms of theoretical foundations and research methodologies.
The thematic year aims to engage more comprehensively with multilingualism – both within individual disciplines and across disciplinary and philological boundaries – to emphasise its relevance in society and academia, and to give this issue greater prominence.
The thematic year spans the winter semester of 2024/25, the summer semester of 2025, and the winter semester of 2025/26.

The travelling exhibition "What do you mean - “minority”?" is coming to Bremen! It is being organised by the Niederdeutschsekretariat and the Minderheitensekretariat and will be on display in the Bremen Parliament from 27 August 2025 to 17 October 2025.
On 3 June 2025, a (free) final event of the trinational ILLS-PEC (Integrating Language, Literacy and Subject Teaching in Plurilingual and Pluricultural Education Contexts) Erasmus+ project will take place at the Max-Planck-Gymnasium in Delmenhorst.
