Short bio

I am a lecturer for Public History at the University of Bremen. From 2009 to 2018 I worked as a project manager at an agency for Applied History. Before that, I worked among others at the Martin-Buber-Institute for Jewish Studies at the University of Cologne as a lecturer in German-Jewish History in Modern Times. In 2011, my dissertation Hofjuden und Kulturbuerger. Die Geschichte der Familie Itzig in Berlin was published. I studied Mediaeval and Modern History, German Literature and East European History at the University of Cologne.

My research interests include German-Jewish History, Public History (especially History Marketing and history in history agencies), cultures of remembrance, family and women's history and regional history. In my current research and teaching project, I am focussing on the Jewish history in Bremen up to 1952, in particular the history of the rabbinical family Rosenak.
