Jutta Günther elected Rector of the University of Bremen

On March 2, 2022, the Academic Senate of the University of Bremen elected JuttaGünther as the new Rector of the University of Bremen. She will take office on September 1, 2022, and looks forward to working with all status groups to further develop the university. In her application speech in the Academic Senate, she accentuated the topics of climate change and sustainability as guiding themes for the University of Bremen and emphasized the principles of dialogue and participation that are important to her.

JuttaGünther was appointed to the University of Bremen in 2014. Since then, she has conducted numerous research projects, including those financed by third-party funds, supervised doctoral and postdoctoral theses, and advanced innovative teaching projects. She is active in numerous committees at the federal and state level, most recently in the Enquete Commission "Climate Protection Strategies for the State of Bremen", among others.
