Torsten Heinrich - Appointment as Professor of Economics (Microeconomics) at the TU Chemnitz

On October 1, 2020, Torsten Heinrich took over the W3 professorship for economics, in particular microeconomics, at the Technical University Chemnitz. Torsten Heinrich completed his doctorate and habilitation at the University of Bremen in the Faculty of Economics and subsequently spent four years as a researcher at the University of Oxford (INET Oxford, Oxford Martin School).

In his research, Torsten Heinrich focuses on computational economics, agent-based modelling, complexity economics, industrial economics and evolutionary economics. During his time as a research assistant at the University of Bremen (2011-2016) and subsequently as a private lecturer (2016-2020), he taught the fundamentals of microeconomics and game theory as well as seminars on "Systemic Risk in Economics and Finance".
