Dr.-Ing. Christiane Heinicke

Scientific Coordinator & Project Leader

Christiane Heinicke is a researcher at the Center of Applied Space Technology and Microgravity (ZARM) at the University of Bremen and the scientific coordinator of the initiative Humans on Mars. She has obtained her M.Sc. in Geophysics from Uppsala University in Sweden and her PhD in Engineering from Ilmenau University of Technology in Germany before living on (simulated) Mars three times for a total of 13 months. Since she joined the ZARM in 2017, Christiane has been working on various aspects of extraterrestrial habitation.
