Cell division protocol
Video protocol of AFM investigation of a dividing cells. The AFM cantilever is moved along one line while recording force curves. The line is actually perpendicular to the cleavage furrow being formed.
Cell division waterfall
Time seequence of topography and elastic modulus during cell division. The shape of the lines show the topography of a dividing cell and onset of formation of cleavage furrow (at 245s). The color code shows the elastic modulus. A stiffening of the centre region can be seen starting at t= 150s. So, stiffening preceeds topograhical changes by about 100 seconds.
