Philip Kerner and Tobias Wendler present at the international AERNA Conference 2022

From 01 September to 03 September 2022, the international conference of the Spanish-Portuguese Association of Natural and Environmental Resources Economics (AERNA) took place in Barcelona. Philip Kerner and Tobias Wendler presented recent research papers.

This year's meeting was organized by the University of Barcelona to discuss various environmental and resource economics issues with an international audience of experts.

Tobias Wendler presented a research project in collaboration with Philip Kerner and Martin Kalthaus (Friedrich Schiller University Jena) entitled "Institutions and the Natural Resource - Economic Growth Nexus". The study addresses the influence of institutional quality on the nexus between economic growth and growth in natural resource use. Philip Kerner presented a research paper in collaboration with Torben Klarl and Tobias Wendler with the presentation title "Green Technologies, Environmental Policy and Regional Growth". In this paper, they address the regional impact of green technology development on economic productivity in Europe using an empirical approach that specifically considers knowledge externalities and other non-observable dependencies between regions.
