Matheus E. Leusin presents at an international workshop on “Artificial Intelligence” at Copenhagen Business School

From February 27 to 28, Ph.D. candidate Matheus Eduardo Leusin participated on invitation in the workshop entitled "Data infrastructure for mapping production and diffusion of AI technologies", organized by Professor Dr. Björn Jindra at Copenhagen Business School, Denmark.

The objective of the workshop was establishing a network between scholars involved with AI interested in working together and building a joint data infrastructure for research on Artificial Intelligence technologies (AI). The creation of both infrastructure and network will facilitate mutual learning, cooperation, and coordination of research developed by the scholars for mapping the production and diffusion of AI related technologies.

The participation of young scholars involved the presentation of ongoing work on data and indicators for mapping the production and diffusion of AI technologies. Matheus, in particular, presented his current research on the use of patents for analyzing AI diffusion worldwide, in a work entitled "Diffusion of AI - Preliminary findings from a global patent analysis". Besides the central theme of the workshop related to AI diffusion, the potential of natural language processing and predictive modeling techniques for mapping AI diffusion was also discussed.

In total, more than 20 members have enrolled in this emerging network, with a second meeting already planned for the second half of the year 2019. Until then, this network will also be used for exchanging information on relevant call for papers, workshop and conference invitations, Ph.D. courses, summer schools, or related calls for funding.

In Bremen, Matheus E. Leusin is a member of the research group “Diginomics – Digitizstion, Economy & Society” in the Faculty of Business Studies and Economics.
