What a year!

The year 2020 presented us with many challenges. Nothing turned out as we had planned at the beginning of the year. Nevertheless, we achieved a lot together in an extraordinary year and, above all, learned to be flexible and to improvise. We look back: Start of the H2B project + Co-organization of the international input-output workshop + Tobias Wendler's PhD defense + Jutta Günther taking office as Vice Rector + Julian Thiele (PhD student) and Ferhad Slivi (trainee) start working + Jonathan Hipp is born + a digital summer semester with 10 SWS and a number of final theses + introduction of the online Mod-Block-DDR colloquium + presentations at EAERE and the HSE ICSID workshop + PhD proposal defense in BIGSSS by Mareike zum Felde, Charlotta Cordes and Jarina Kühn + PhD defense by Mariia Shkolnykova + stakeholder workshops and experiments in BreLAB + co-organization of the summer school in Bochum + panel discussion on "30 Years of German Unity" + Reading and eyewitness talk on "Madgermanes" + online annual meeting of the Mod-Block-DDR consortium + four presentations at the EAEPE Conference in online format + project conclusion of B2B and Neo-Indikatorik + joint publication on the consequences of Covid-19 for the Bremen economy + interviews and media contributions on the economic consequences of the pandemic + start of a digital winter semester + commitment for the new project HyTrack.

We would like to thank all colleagues and project partners for their cooperation, look forward to hopefully seeing each other again soon in presence and wish you all happy holidays and a happy new year!
