Prof. Dr Anja Becker (University of Bremen) and Dr Britta Bußmann (University of Oldenburg) are collaborating on an exploratory project examining narratives of female resistance in the Middle Ages. Their goal is to demonstrate that ancient literature can provide insights into contemporary discourse.

In a practical seminar, students of Faculty 10 had the opportunity to look over the shoulders of media professionals and contribute to the department's website. A continuation is planned for the winter semester 2025/2026.

The three-day annual conference of the ‘Gesellschaft für Namenforschung e.V. (GfN)’ took place in Uppsala in April 2025 under the title ‘Names in Context’. Three students were also given the opportunity to take part in the conference at the Institutet för språk och folkminnen by presenting posters.

Community over Commercialisation – this was the motto of the Open Access Week held at the State and University Library of Bremen last October. Anja Becker, Professor of Medieval German Studies, also took part in a panel discussion on the future of Diamond Open Access.

At the meeting of the Bremen Senate on 4 February 2025, Lucia Werder, Director of Bremen City Library, literary critic Dr Wiebke Porombka and university professor Dr Karen Struve were appointed as the new Board of Directors of the Rudolf Alexander Schröder Foundation until February 2030.
