Funded Projects

MAPEX-CF supported Alishbah Zaka (National University of Sciences and Technology, Islamabad, Pakistan) visiting Dr. Lars Robben (Institute of Inorganic Chemistry and Crystallography)

The month-long research visit (10th Jan to 9th Feb 2024) at the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry and Crystallography, University of Bremen, was planned for the phase and morphological analysis of metal loaded ZSM-5 zeolite under the supervision of Dr. Lars Robben. During my visit, I got helpful diffractograms for my samples. Moreover, I analyzed the morphology and elemental distribution of my samples using SEM images and elemental mapping, respectively. These analytical techniques were helpful in analyzing the effect of metal loading on the phase and morphology of ZSM-5 zeolite.

I am thankful to Dr. Lars Robben and Prof. Thorsten Gesing for their guidance and support throughout the analysis and stay. I would like to mention here that Dr. Robben was very supportive all the time from making a good proposal for MAPEX-CF to the collection and interpretation of analysis data. I am also thankful to Sawsan Banjak, Selina Schuh, Carla Uribe, and Christopher Reuter for their cooperative and accommodating gestures. The invaluable support of Dr. Hanna Lührs and Dr. Wilken Seemann made the administrative process smooth. I extend my sincere gratitude to MAPEX-CF and the University of Bremen for the funding provided for the research visit. The support from the university facilitated the exploration of research trends as well as allowed the utilization of advanced analytical tools. It is worth mentioning that the university provided all the necessary resources to make this research visit a success.

I am proud to be awarded the MAPEX-CF incoming PhD research grant and excited about the positive impact this grant will have on the completion of my PhD thesis.

Sincerely,

Alishbah Zaka
