17th Early Career Researcher Workshop

Scientific workshop with ECR presentations and PI talks.

Get to know the scientists next door – live and in person on the campus of the University of Bremen

With the aim of “building bridges” across faculties and institutes we encourage early-career researchers to boost their careers through interdisciplinary exchange.

In the forthcoming workshop, scientific keynote presentations by invited MAPEX ECIs will pave the way for short scientific presentation (max. 10 min) and poster-sessions to allow open discussions and interdisciplinary networking between ECR peers. An additional highlight will be talks by two MAPEX PIs, giving insights to their scientific research as well as to their academic career paths.

After a day full of science and networking, the day will close with a social activity at the restaurantzum Platzhirsch”, playing minigolf and having dinner.

The workshop is a perfect platform for you if you would like to …

  • get in touch with ECR peers, build up your own network of experts,
  • learn from others from different disciplines and think outside the box,
  • open doors to other experts – become aware of the huge potential for mutual support that you can access on the short way,
  • develop ideas for cooperative and interdisciplinary research projects,
  • get to know how MAPEX can support your research and your scientific career path.

Call for contributions: Poster and flashlight presentations
Contributions from all parts of materials science-related topics are welcome. We explicitly encourage ECRs and master students to present the results of their projects or thesis. You can choose between a brief scientific lecture of your work (max. 10 min.) or a presentation of a scientific poster (incl. flashlight presentation) .
